This version is like the 1968 Uni-Vibe made by Honey UNICORD and is the most popular one because it is believed to be the version Jimi Hendrix used. Unlike the 1969 and FILLMORE EAST versions, the 1968 reaches a faster speed, offering a quicker pulse response.

SABBADIUS 1968 Funky-Vibe ST:
Based on the original 1968 Honey UNICORD Uni-Vibe, this is the most popular version and the one most widely associated with Jimi Hendrix. It offers a higher maximum speed than later models, delivering deeper and more responsive modulation. You can go from slow and pronounced pulses (Throb) to fast, defined, and “watery” throbs.

SABBADIUS 1969 Funky-Vibe Version:

This version was made by Shin-ei Companion in Japan in 1969, after Honey UNICORD went bankrupt. The Japanese company began manufacturing the units and changed some internal components, resulting in a slightly different sound compared to the 1968 Uni-Vibe. This version was used by David Gilmour, Robin Trower, and even Jimi Hendrix, among others.

SABBADIUS 1969 Funky-Vibe ST:
Inspired by the version manufactured by Shin-ei Companion in 1969 after Honey UNICORD’s bankruptcy. While it retains the spirit of the original Uni-Vibe, it incorporates changes in internal components that give it a slightly different tonal character, similar to the sounds used by David Gilmour, Robin Trower, and Hendrix in his later years.

SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Special Edition Version:

When Honey UNICORD went bankrupt and production shifted to Shin-ei Companion, some 1968 parts and some 1969 parts were used together, resulting in the FILLMORE EAST version—a blend of the 1968 and 1969 units.

SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe ST:
According to some Uni-Vibe experts, this could have been the version Jimi Hendrix used between 1969 and 1970, while others believe Hendrix used a 1968 Uni-Vibe in the U.S. and a 1969 version in Europe. What’s clear is that if you compare the sound of the same song played in the U.S. and later in Europe (including England), you’ll notice that the «throb» and «wave» of the effect do not evoke the same «chewy» sound often associated with Hendrix’s performances.
