DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE VIBES:
The 1968 version is the one that started it all. This version is like the 1968 Uni-Vibe made by Honey UNICORD and is the most popular one because it is believed to be the version Jimi Hendrix used. Unlike the 1969 and FILLMORE EAST versions, the 1968 reaches a faster speed, offering a quicker pulse response.

SABBADIUS 1968 Funky-Vibe ST:
Based on the original 1968 Honey UNICORD Uni-Vibe, this is the most popular version and the one most widely associated with Jimi Hendrix. It offers a higher maximum speed than later models, delivering deeper and more responsive modulation. You can go from slow and pronounced pulses (Throb) to fast, defined, and “watery” throbs.
SABBADIUS 1969 Funky-Vibe Version:
This version was made by Shin-ei Companion in Japan in 1969, after Honey UNICORD went bankrupt. The Japanese company began manufacturing the units and changed some internal components, resulting in a slightly different sound compared to the 1968 Uni-Vibe. This version was used by David Gilmour, Robin Trower, and even Jimi Hendrix, among others.

SABBADIUS 1969 Funky-Vibe ST:
Inspired by the version manufactured by Shin-ei Companion in 1969 after Honey UNICORD’s bankruptcy. While it retains the spirit of the original Uni-Vibe, it incorporates changes in internal components that give it a slightly different tonal character, similar to the sounds used by David Gilmour, Robin Trower, and Hendrix in his later years.
SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Special Edition Version:
When Honey UNICORD went bankrupt and production shifted to Shin-ei Companion, some 1968 parts and some 1969 parts were used together, resulting in the FILLMORE EAST version—a blend of the 1968 and 1969 units.

SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe ST:
According to some Uni-Vibe experts, this could have been the version Jimi Hendrix used between 1969 and 1970, while others believe Hendrix used a 1968 Uni-Vibe in the U.S. and a 1969 version in Europe. What’s clear is that if you compare the sound of the same song played in the U.S. and later in Europe (including England), you’ll notice that the “throb” and “wave” of the effect do not evoke the same “chewy” sound often associated with Hendrix’s performances. We discovered that the SABBADIUS FILLMORE EAST Funky-Vibe ST version captures that chewy sound, similar to the 1969 and 1970 Uni-Vibe units.
SABBADIUS WOODSTOCK Funky-Vibe Version:
The WOODSTOCK version offers more control over the SPEED knob, ranging from extremely slow to very fast speeds, covering all parameters a SPEED knob should offer in a Uni-Vibe-style pedal.
The new custom-made 7 mm CdS photoresistors for SABBADIUS increase the THROB intensity in every aspect, letting you feel that swirling double-pulse sound Jimi Hendrix experienced with the original Uni-Vibe he used.
SABBADIUS MAUI Funky-Vibe Version:
Jimi Hendrix performed in MAUI on July 30, 1970, for 400 people during the filming of Rainbow Bridge in Hawaii. He wore a black shirt with silver and turquoise circular dots and two white/silver lines, along with black Oxford pants. Jimi played his amazing Olympic White Fender Stratocaster with a maple neck and also his Gibson Flying V. That’s why the new SABBADIUS MAUI Funky-Vibe comes in that black color with blue LEDs.
SABBADIUS introduces the MAUI Funky-Vibe version to commemorate this incredible performance.

The SABBADIUS MAUI Funky-Vibe offers more control in the fast SPEED range and fewer slow-speed options, increasing the phase wave modulation as heard in the song “Hey Baby (New Rising Sun).”
“To get that thick and juicy tone, try adjusting the INTENSITY knob between 4 and 6 and the SPEED knob between 2 and 4 to dial in that chewy, sweet Uni-Vibe sound Hendrix used.” (Note: settings may vary from unit to unit, as potentiometers typically have a ±20% tolerance. We recommend trusting your ears to find the best setting for you.)
All five versions mentioned here use the same custom-made 7 mm CdS photoresistors developed specifically for SABBADIUS Electronics. These increase the THROB intensity in every aspect and deliver that swirling, watery, and intense sound that JIMI HENDRIX EXPERIENCED with the original Uni-Vibe he used.
All five versions are impressive, truly offering a 3D underwater-like sound with slightly different tones that aren’t easy to distinguish at first.
You’ll get what you need with any of the five versions.
IMPORTANT: Since all Sabbadius products are completely manufactured and assembled by hand, they may have one or another scratch or chip on the paint, keep this in mind as some enclosures may have these small damages to the paint or cabinet, this does not mean that the product is broken or damaged since if the product leaves the Sabbadius laboratory it is because it works perfectly 100%, claims of this nature are not valid. The unit may produce noise or pick up AM/FM radio signals due to its vintage-style circuit design, faithful to the original Uni-Vibe. This behavior is considered normal and is not covered under warranty. Such noise or interference may be more noticeable when the player touches the unit, such as the enclosure, screws, or switches. Thank you very much for understanding.
